As part of our October 2012 Collection, AOL Artist Paola Andrea Ochoa created two canvases. Paola has been a longtime friend of the AOL Artists program. Since June, her work has been exhibited in our New York office as part of AOL’s collection of original artworks.
Paola Andrea Ochoa, born in Colombia, is based in Brooklyn, NY. Her abstract drawings combine whimsical strokes and sharp prolific mark-making. Paola has exhibited in a number of galleries, most recently at A.I.R. Gallery.
As part of our October 2012 Collection, AOL Artist Aakash Nihalani has created four canvases. Although the canvases are new to AOL.com, Aakash has been a longtime friend of the AOL Artists program. Since June, his work has been exhibited in our New York office as part of AOL’s collection of original artworks.
Aakash Nihalani is known for his ephemeral street art, using neon tape to alter our perception of the urban landscape. His work has been featured across the globe, most recently at the Lisa de Kooing Artist in Residence Program. Aakash Nihalani is currently represented by Jonathan LeVine Gallery.

Check out “Annoyed Grunt,” a solo show by AOL Artist Mr. Kiji.
Last year, Mr. Kiji was struck by a car while riding a bicycle to work. Due to the accident, he lost all ability to feel or use his hands or several months. The computer became his sole creative outlet, developing a new visual style.
“Annoyed Grunt” opens October 4th at Compound Gallery in Portland Oregon. The reception is from 7pm-10pm. The Show closes October 28th.

AOL Canvas by Tomokazu Matsuyama

New AOL Artist Tomokazu Matsuyama has created a stunning painting, Pink Rain, as a canvas for AOL. The new piece is part of the September 2012 Collection of canvases
Matsuyama was born in Tokyo and is currently based in New York. He is known for his mystical paintings and large-scale installations. Matsuyama has exhibited across the world, from Dubai to Los Angeles. His most recent solo exhibition was at Mark Moore Gallery in Los Angeles, CA.

It is officially Fashion Week! Get glamourous with four paintings by our newest AOL Artists Cate Parr and NOMOCO. The new canvases debuted on AOL.com today along with a bonus canvas, Rain Cloud, by NOMOCO.
Cate Parr, a Los Angeles-based artist, was born and raised in the UK. Cate’s paintings are executed in watercolor and ink, focusing on color, gesture and movement. Her work has been featured in The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, and Detour Magazine, to name a few. NOMOCO, a London-based artist, was born and raised in Japan. NOMOCO’s work also utilizes ink and paint, deriving inspiration from movement and play. She has worked with clients such as The New York Times, Neiman Marcus and Marc Jacobs. We’re thrilled to welcome Cate Parr and NOMOCO into the AOL Artists community.
August 29, 2012 Canvas Collection

From painters to sculptors, five new artists have joined the AOL Artists program. Erika Somogyi, Jessica Snow, Lauren Cotton, Matt W. Moore, and Rebeca Raney have created ten new canvases for AOL.
Erika Somogyi, a Brooklyn-based artist, creates complex sculptures and paintings that are both beautiful and fun. Rebeca Raney, another Brooklyn-based artist, creates work of a similar nature, using paint and sculpture to create work that is exciting and playful. The two actually met prior to joining the AOL Artists community while exhibiting at Monya Rowe Gallery. Jessica Snow, a San Francisco-based artist, is known for her colorful geometric paintings and installations. Her most recent group exhibition included the work of renowned artists such as Ellsworth Kelly and Sol LeWitt. Lauren Cotton, a Connecticut-based artist, creates large-scale installations out of neon tape. Her work has been exhibited at multiple galleries along the East Coast. Matt W Moore, based in Portland, Maine, creates work that spans a multitude of disciplines. His work has been exhibited in galleries and museums internationally. We are thrilled to have such an eclectic group of creatives join the AOL Artists community.
New Summer Series Canvases


We’re closing this season’s ongoing Summer Series of canvases with two breathtaking paintings by alumni AOL Artist Chrissy Angliker. “Shore Side” and “Sunflower” evoke the heat of August, the beauty of the season, and are dripping with color.

The Summer 2012 Olympics are almost here! Celebrate with our new canvas “Bronze, Silver, Gold” by AOL Artist Allie Rex.
Allie Rex is a Brooklyn-based artist who creates 3D installations by painting a plastic film called mylar, and then cutting it into precise and neat shapes. Allie’s work has been exhibited across the US, including exhibitions in New York, at Like The Spice Gallery, and Michigan, at the Cranbrook Museum of Art. We are thrilled to have Allie as a part of the AOL Artists program and to welcome “Bronze, Silver, Gold” into AOL’s canvas collection of original works of art.
